Si svolgerà domenica 28 Agosto al Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles l’attesa edizione degli MTV Video Music Awards che anche quest’anno porterà sul prestigioso palcoscenico tante novità ed una nutrita schiera di artisti musicali. Solo pochi giorni fa sono stati annunciati alcuni degli ospiti chiamati a partecipare al lungo show: a Selena Gomez è stata affidata la conduzione del pre-show mentre ad aprire l’edizione 2011 sarà Lady GaGa che annuncia da giorni una performance spettacolare alla sua maniera (si vocifera di una performance in topless o la presenza del suo alter ego Jo Calderone) candidata in 4 categorie: Best Female Video, Best Art Direction, Best Choreography per Judas e Best Videowith Message Prevista anche una performance di Adele, di Pittbull, Jassie J, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Young The Gian. e Beyoncé, la quale da poco ha confermato la sua presenza con performance ed inoltre candidata nelle categorie Best Female Video, Best Choreography, Best Cinematography Oltre ai gia annucniati Selena Gomez, Seth Rogen, Kim Kardashian, Rick Ross e Odd Future, tra i presenter, ovvero le star che premieranno i vincitori nelle diverse categorie, si aggiungono anche Nicki Minaj, Taylor Lautner, Drake, Joe Jonas, Jared Leto e Jb Smoove della serie TV “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. Anche se ancora non ne è stata data notizia ufficiale, la grande protagonista della serata dobvrebbe essere Britney Spears che si troverà al centro di un tribute da parte delle sue colleghe che si esibiranno, secondo alcune indiscrezioni, in alcuni dei brani che hanno reso celebre la cantante: Selena Gomez dovrebbe proporre “Baby one more time”, Lady Gaga avrebbe scelto invece “Circus”, Katy Perry in “Oops! I did it again”, Janet Jackson in “I’m a slave for u”, Demi Lovato in “Toxic” e Ke$ha e Nicki Minaj in “Gimme more”, infine, tutte insieme, compreso Brit, dovrebbero ballare e cantare un medley con “Hold it against me” e “I wanna go”. A consegnare il premio alla carriera potrebbe pensarci Madonna, artista da sempre stimata dalla Spears.

Queste le categorie e i candidati per gli VMA 2011 che in Italia saranno trasmessi in diretta alle 02.30 nella notte tra il 28 e il 29 Agosto da MTV.
