Sam Smith è il trionfatore della 57° edizione dei Grammy Awards. Allo Staples Center di Los Angeles il pronostico alla vigilia è stato ampiamente rispettato con Sam Smith che ha conquistato per 4 dei sei premi nelle catagorie in cui aveva ricevuto la nomination: la sua “Stay With Me” ha vinto infatti la statuetta per le categorie Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best New Artist e Best Pop Vocal Album.
Super bottino anche per Beyoncé che con i 3 premi aggiudicatisi (migliore performance R&B, migliore canzone R&B per “Drunk in Love” e Best Surround Sound Album)ha già raggiunto quota 20 Grammy in carriera.
Il premio più ambito invece è andato a Beck che con “Morning Phase” ha conquistato il grammofono per l’album dell’anno e miglior album rock.
Pharrell Williams si aggiudica il premio miglior performance pop per la hit “Happy“; “The Marshall Mathers LP2″ di Eminem trionfa nella categoria miglior album rap mentre Kendrick Lamar si impone nella categoria miglior performance rap per “I”. “St. Vincent” vince il premio miglior album alternative mentre rimangono senza statuette Sia e Katy Perry.
Ad aprire lo show ci hanno pensato gli AC/DC che con il ritorno di Chris Slade alla batteria hanno regalato una versione live di “Rock or Bust” e “Highway To Hell“. Tra i performers più attesi anche il trio composto da Rihanna, Kanye West e Paul McCartney che hanno interpretato il singolo “FourFiveSeconds“, il duetto tra Lady Gaga e il crooner Tony Bennett. Sul palco Madonna in versione torero ha presentato live “Living For Love” mentre la chiusura è stata affidata alla reginetta dei Grammy, Beyoncé che ha proposto la sua “Take My Hand Precious Lord”.
