È quasi tutto pronto per i prossimi MTV Video Music Awards 2017, l’edizione che si svolgerà il 25 agosto 2017 nel The Forum di Inglewood, California e che sarà presentata da Katy Perry.
Come ormai stranoto, il noto canale tematico musicale premierà i migliori video musicali pubblicati dal 25 giugno 2016 al 23 giugno 2017 e per la prima volta le due categorie divise per genere miglior video maschile e miglior video femminile sono state unite per formare la nuova categoria “Artist of the Year“.
La serata prevederà l’esibizione di numerosi artisti tra cui la stessa Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus (che ritorna a distanza di quattro anni dalla sua esibizione con il “twerk” e con Robin Thicke), Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Fifth Harmony, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Shawn Mendes, Lorde, Kendrick Lamar e Pink che sarà omaggiata con il “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” per il suo “Impatto evidente e importante nella musica, nella cultura pop, moda e filantropia“. Durante la serata Pink si esibirà sul palco interpretando il suo nuovo singolo “What About Us” che anticipa l’uscita del suo nuovo album “Beautiful Trauma“.
L’artista che ha la possibilità di vincere più riconoscimenti è Kendrick Lamar che si trova con ben otto nomination per il suo singolo “Humble“, seguito da Katy Perry e The Weeknd con 5.
