Lenny Kravitz ha annunciato la pubblicazione, per il 5 Giugno 2012, di una Deluxe Edition di “Mama Said“, album del 1991 che gli è valso la consacrazione mondiale dopo il debutto con “Let Love Rule“, la certificazione disco di platino, la collaborazione con Slash dei Guns ‘N Roses in due tracce del disco, un secondo posto nella Billboard Hot 100 con il singolo “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” e un piazzamento nella Top 10 Alternative Rock con “Always on the Run”.
Il rocker, che ha da poco concluso le date in Giappone e si appresta a portare in Europa il tour a sostegno dell’ultimo album, “Black and White America“, ha deciso dunque di dare alle stampe una nuova versione di un album che lui, dalle pagine di Billboard, definisce “catartico” perchè nato in “un periodo folle” della vita, segnato da forti passioni, paure ed emozioni tutte confluite nei 14 pezzi di “Mama Said”, che tornerà tra poco più di un mese con una nuova veste.

La Deluxe Edition del secondo album in carriera di Lenny Kravitz, sarà un doppio cd con 21 bonus track delle quali 15 saranno inedite: ci saranno i demo di “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” “The Difference is Why” e “What the…Are We Saying?”, versioni remix e strmentali di una serie di pezzi e otto brani in versione live oltre a due tracce inedite e incomplete “Riding on the Wings of My Lord” e “Framed, Lying, Crying“.
