Green Day, concerto con 15 inediti e un brano dedicato ad Amy Winehouse

Durante un concerto tenutosi al Tiki Bar 1700 Placentia in Costa Mesa, California, i cui proventi sono stati devoluti interamente alla Fondazione Fibrosi Cistica, i Green Day hanno sorpreso i loro fan cantando ben 15 nuovi brani. Secondo il fansite Greendayauthority.com, la band ha sorpreso il pubblico suonado del materiale inedito più una cover di “Goodbye To Romance” di Ozzy Osbourne ed una versione del loro side project Foxboro Hot Tubs “It’s Fuck Time”. Tra i nuovi brani hanno debuttato “Nuclear Family“, “Carpe Diem“, “8th Avenue Seranade” e altri 12 tracce. Tra queste figura anche un brano intitolato “Amy” il cui testo è stato pubblicato sul sito ufficiale della band facendo chiaramente intendere che si tratta di un omaggio alla cantante recentemente scomparsa.

Il frontman Billie Joe Armstrong aveva recentemente dichiarato ai propri fan che il gruppo era tornato a lavorare al nuovo materiale e visto che sono ben 15 i brani che sono stati eseguiti in anteprima, si può ragionevolmente dedurre che la band sia molto prossima alle fasi di registrazione del disco. L’ultimo album di inediti pubblicato dal trio pop punk risale al 2009 con “21st Century Breakdown“, mentre un album dal vivo intitolato “Awesome As Fuck” è stato rilasciato all’inizio di questo anno.
