Dopo “Writing’s On The Wall” (colonna sonora del film di James Bond del 2015) e dopo lo straordinario successo mondiale dell’album di debutto “In The Lonely Hour“, che ha conquistato le vette delle classifiche mondiali, Sam Smith torna sulle scene con il nuovo singolo “Too Good at Goodbyes”. Il singolo in pochissimi giorni ha raggiunto la vetta della classifica Globale di Spotify dei brani più ascoltati al mondo totalizzando oltre 14.1 milioni di stream nel mondo.
“Too Good at Goodbyes” è stato scritto con i collaboratori di lunga data Jimmy Napes e Stargate, e dimostra ancora una volta l’innegabile unicità dell’estensione vocale di Sam e le sue abilità emotive nella scrittura:
“Questa canzone parla di una relazione che mi ha coinvolto e fondamentalmente tratta di come si può stare bene dopo che si viene mollati. È da molto tempo che non pubblico qualcosa di nuovo, e penso che questo primo singolo fissi lo stile di ciò che arriverà in seguito“.
A tre anni di distanza dall’uscita di “In The Lonely Hour“, Sam Smith è considerato come uno dei più grandi artisti del panorama musicale mondiale, con oltre 12 milioni di album venduti in tutto il mondo, un album e cinque singoli al #1 in UK e moltissimi premi come un Academy Award, un Golden Globe, tre Brit Awards, tre Billboard Music Awards, quattro Grammy’s e sei MOBO Awards.
