Dopo il tour di quest’estate degli U2, i fan della band irlandese hanno spostato la loro attenzione sull’uscita del nuovo album.
Nei giorni scorsi, con dei messaggi un po’ strani, gli U2 avevano anticipato qualcosa ad alcuni fan, senza però lasciare bene intendere cosa sarebbe accaduto. Poi hanno dato appuntamento alle 18 del 30 agosto per scoprire il brano “The Blackout” in diretta su Facebook e sono stati puntualissimi, oltre che di parola.
“The Blackout” anticipa così l’uscita dell’album “Songs of Experience“, ma il primo singolo uscirà il prossimo 6 settembre e il titolo è “You’re the best thing about me“. Questo nuovo album è il quattordicesimo in studio della band di Bono Vox e segue “Songs of innocence“, uscito nel 2014 senza però riscuotere un grande successo. All’epoca gli U2 decisero di rilasciarlo gratuitamente su iTunes e la scelta fece calare notevolmente le vendite, la band registrò i dati più bassi in 33 anni. La decisione sbagliata degli U2, in effetti, fece parlare molto più che dell’album in sé, passato quasi inosservato.
